As part of the Action Plan for visits to beneficiaries of approved funding, on 18 September 2026, Vladimir Podany, an officer of the Culture Sector of the Ministry, visited the Public Institution “Bosnian National Theatre” Zenica for the purpose of monitoring the implementation of the project “25th Festival of Bosnian and Herzegovinian Drama 2026”, which is supported by funds provided by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The project “25th Festival of Bosnian and Herzegovinian Drama 2026” represents a significant theatre event dedicated to the promotion of Bosnian and Herzegovinian dramatic literature, theatre arts, and contemporary theatrical production. The Festival brings together theatre artists, ensembles, and cultural professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, providing a platform for the presentation of theatrical achievements and the exchange of artistic and professional experiences.

At the time of the monitoring visit, the Festival was in its fifth day. By that point, four performances from the competition programme had been staged, while three book promotions had been organized as part of the accompanying programme. Festival activities were continuing in accordance with the established programme schedule.

During the monitoring visit, it was determined that the narrative and financial reports on the implementation of the project were being prepared and would be submitted by the beneficiary to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports in accordance with contractual obligations, no later than 31 December 2026. It was also noted that a media evaluation of the Festival was being prepared and would be published on the beneficiary’s website and social media platforms.

As part of the documentation being prepared for reporting purposes, copies of contracts concluded by the Public Institution Bosnian National Theatre Zenica with Festival participants were provided, including agreements with Atelje 212 from Belgrade, the Public Institution “Bora Stanković” Theatre from Vranje, and the Public Institution National Theatre Mostar, together with the corresponding invoices and bank statements.

During the visit, an inspection was carried out of the submitted documentation, as well as the promotional and publicity materials relating to the Festival activities implemented to date.

Through its programme, the project “25th Festival of Bosnian and Herzegovinian Drama 2026” contributes to the promotion of Bosnian and Herzegovinian dramatic and theatrical arts, encourages the development of contemporary theatre production, and creates opportunities for encounters and the exchange of artistic experiences among theatre professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
