15 October – International Day of Rural Women

The strength of a woman, the strength of the motherland

The International Day of Rural Women is celebrated on October 15 with the aim of highlighting the importance and contribution of women who live and work in rural areas and raising awareness of their important role in the development of rural communities.

Women in rural areas play an important role in agriculture, food production and processing, development of rural economy and preservation of natural resources, tradition and cultural heritage. With their daily work, they contribute to the sustainability of farms, the economic development of families and the strengthening of local communities.

Of particular importance is their participation in starting their own business activities, developing family agricultural firms, producing and promoting domestic products, and creating new opportunities for employment and income generation in rural areas.

Celebrating this day is also an opportunity to point out the need to create equal opportunities and better conditions for the life and work of women in the countryside, including access to financial resources, education, professional training, modern technologies and the market.

Celebrating the International Day of Rural Women is an opportunity to recognize and valorize their work, knowledge and contribution and to continue creating conditions for their more equal position and active participation in the economic and social development of rural areas.

Valuable hands of a strong woman - life
