As part of the collaboration between UNESCO and ICOM, a global online survey on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in museums has been launched, guided by the 2015 UNESCO Recommendation on the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, their Diversity and their Role in Society.
The survey aims to gather up-to-date information on how museums are using artificial intelligence, including opportunities, challenges and emerging needs.
The survey is open until 21 July 2026, for representatives of museums of all types and sizes and is available via the link:
