On 5 November 2026, the World Day of the Roma Language was celebrated in Kakanj Municipality in organisation of the Roma Support Center Association “Romalen” and the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of the celebration program, the presentation “World Day of the Romani Language – significance, historical context and importance of preserving the Romani language” was held, followed by a discussion with the participants about the promotion of the Romani language, the preservation of cultural identity and the role of local institutions in the protection and improvement of the Romani language.

Also, in addition to the festive event, an educational workshop was organized for high school students, where students had the opportunity to learn about the Romani language, Romani holidays and important dates.

In front of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, Bjanka Alajbegović from the Culture Sector attended the ceremony in Kakanj Municipality.
