Sabina Haračić: World and European Judo Champion

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports congratulates Sabina Haračić, a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national judo team, on winning gold medals at both the World and European Championships in the veterans’ category. In the span of just 32 days, Haračić secured two major international titles—first at the World Championships in Sarajevo, and subsequently at the European Championships in Portimão, Portugal—demonstrating her dedication to judo and her high level of competitive performance.

At the World Championships, held in Sarajevo from September 20 to 24, 2026, she claimed the title by defeating France’s Chloe Cosson in the final match. She further proved her caliber in Portimão, where she secured the European gold in the F1 category (over 78 kg) by defeating the same opponent twice.

With this year’s results, Sabina Haračić adds to a series of notable performances at major competitions. Her achievements this year follow a silver medal at the 2024 European Championships in Sarajevo and a bronze medal at the 2025 World Championships in Paris. Such competitive consistency reflects a serious approach to preparation and an ability to maintain a top-tier standard throughout demanding international events.

Behind her success lies the support of those who have followed her progress and helped prepare her for these significant challenges. A special contribution was made by coach Branislav Crnogorac, judo clubs Bosnia and Nippon, coaches, health workers and institutions and partners involved in its preparations.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports congratulates Sabina Haračić on winning the world and European title, as well as everyone who participated in her success. We wish her good health, new sporting challenges and awards, and more successful performances where she will proudly represent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
