Open Calls Announced for Prestigious U.S. Government Scholarship Programs

The U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially announced the opening of calls for applications for scholarship and professional development programs fully funded by the U.S. Government. These programs represent a traditional pillar of academic and professional exchange and offer outstanding opportunities for further capacity building in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The open calls are intended for a wide range of applicants – from students and early-career researchers to established professionals in various fields, as well as institutions seeking to enhance their operations through international cooperation, the exchange of best practices, and the acquisition of globally competitive knowledge and skills.

The following programs are available to interested candidates and institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina during this cycle: the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, and the Fulbright Specialist Program.

All the listed programs are designed to strengthen bilateral ties, foster scientific research, and build professional networks that contribute to the long-term development of society and institutions.

Application deadlines for this year’s cycles fall in July and August 2026.

As each program has specific deadlines, selection criteria, and application procedures, detailed information regarding requirements, necessary documents, and submission methods is available on the official website of the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All those who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to prepare and submit their applications in a timely manner and take advantage of these unique programs supporting professional and academic development.
