At the Parish of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist in Odžak, Minister Vlaisavljević met with the parish priest, Father Ilija Orkić, to discuss the preservation and restoration of the region’s valuable religious heritage.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on preserving the church as a vital part of the cultural and architectural heritage of Odžak and the Posavina region. This year, the Ministry awarded the parish 40,000 KM for the renovation of the church ceiling, continuing its support for projects aimed at restoring and protecting religious buildings that constitute a valuable part of the area’s cultural and historical heritage.

In her conversation with Father Ilija Orkić, Minister Vlaisavljević also learned about other significant sites and stories of the region—including the Monument to the Mothers of Posavina, a lasting testament to the suffering and resilience of Posavina families—as well as the current situation and needs of the Dobor Deanery.

In conclusion, it was once again emphasized that Posavina has a unique story that must be preserved.
