Semira Cheikh Dommar, Expert Advisor for Olympic and Paralympic Sports, held a meeting with Omer Dervišbegović, President of the Backgammon Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was held in light of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team qualifying for the World Backgammon Championship, scheduled to take place in London from August 24 to August 30, 2026.

Omer Dervišbegović presented the Federation’s work, highlighting planned activities and goals for 2026. During the meeting, particular focus was placed on funding the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team’s participation in the upcoming World Backgammon Championship.

At the conclusion of the meeting, discussions also covered the possibility of the Ministry providing support for the development of this sport through open public calls for projects submitted by the Backgammon Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
