Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Attends Grand Opening of the City Stadium in Vareš

Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević attended the grand opening of the fully renovated City Stadium in Vareš Majdan. This historic sporting event for the Municipality of Vareš brought together numerous citizens, sports enthusiasts, donors, and friends of the Vareš Football Club. The renovation of this significant sports facility was achieved through intensive work, the synergy of the local community, and support from institutions at all levels of government; the project was fully recognized and co-financed by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a total of KM 600,000.

Funds for the reconstruction and modernization of the facility were secured through the program of capital transfers to other levels of government and funds—intended for the construction, adaptation, and reconstruction of sports infrastructure—which is systematically implemented by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

During the ceremony, Minister Vlaisavljević highlighted the importance of implementing such capital projects, emphasizing that the renovation of the stadium in Vareš Majdan holds multifaceted significance for the entire region. She noted that investing in sports infrastructure across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a lasting priority for the Ministry, as it directly translates into investment in health, young generations, and the future of local communities. The Vareš City Stadium is an excellent example of how a clear vision, dedicated work, and support from higher levels of government can create a modern sports environment that serves as a hub for gathering and forging new championship stories; consequently, the Ministry will continue to monitor needs on the ground and support projects that elevate local sports standards to a European level.
