Action Plan Visit of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports: Visit to the Association of Mothers of Children with Special Needs “Joy of Life”

As part of the Action Plan for visits to beneficiaries of approved funds, Adnan Bektić, a representative of the Youth Sector of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, visited the Association of Mothers of Children with Special Needs “Joy of Life” in order to gain insight into the implementation of project activities and the results achieved through the project “Together in Discovering Art and Tradition”, which was supported by the Ministry through the Youth Transfer Programme.

As part of the project’s implementation to date, a visit was organised to the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, where participants had the opportunity to learn about the country’s cultural heritage and the importance of preserving art and tradition. In addition, since September, a music workshop has been taking place, providing young people with an opportunity to develop their creative potential, express themselves through music, and work collaboratively in a group setting.

Preparations are also underway for a public performance to mark 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This activity represents an opportunity for young people to showcase their abilities and achievements and, through a cultural and artistic programme, contribute to raising awareness of the importance of including persons with disabilities in social and cultural life. Furthermore, visits to Srebrenica and Višegrad are planned, with the aim of familiarising participants with the cultural and historical heritage and significant landmarks of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the visit, the activities carried out so far and the plans for the continuation of project implementation were presented. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of teamwork, musical expression, and educational activities in empowering young people with developmental difficulties, as well as creating opportunities for them to demonstrate their abilities through active participation and contribute to the life of their local communities.

Through the implementation of project activities, efforts are being made to strengthen young people’s self-confidence, develop their social and creative skills, and encourage their participation in cultural and social events. Projects of this kind are especially important for young people with developmental difficulties, as they provide the support needed to help them develop their capacities, gain recognition through public performances, and continue participating actively in community life.

The objective of the project “Together in Discovering Art and Tradition” is to encourage young people, particularly those with developmental difficulties, to actively participate in cultural, educational, and creative activities. The project focuses on introducing participants to cultural and historical heritage sites, marking significant dates, and empowering young people through music workshops, educational excursions, and public performances, supported by activities that foster personal development and facilitate greater community engagement.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports will continue monitoring the implementation of projects in the field, with the aim of ensuring the transparent and responsible use of public funds and providing support to programmes and projects that contribute to youth development, creative expression, and greater social inclusion, including the inclusion of young people with developmental difficulties.
