As part of the Action Plan for visits to beneficiaries of approved funding, on 18 September 2026, Sanja Arnautović, Head of the Department for Cultural Institutions and Associations within the Culture Sector of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, visited the Association “Life with Down Syndrome of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina” with the aim of monitoring the intended use of funds allocated for the implementation of the project “From Literary Text to Inclusive Stage”.

The project “From Literary Text to Inclusive Stage” is based on linking a literary work with stage and visual expression, with a particular emphasis on creating opportunities for the equal and active participation of persons with Down syndrome in cultural and artistic creation. The project builds upon the Association’s previous work in the field of inclusive culture and the development of cultural content that promotes accessibility to culture, creative expression, and the active involvement of persons with disabilities in cultural life.

At the time of the monitoring visit, the project was in the preparation and planning phase. Activities undertaken thus far have focused on the design and preparation of the exhibition and stage components of the project. Preparations are underway for the exhibition setup, the selection of costumes to be featured as part of the exhibition, and the development of sketches and conceptual designs for the exhibition space and other elements necessary for shaping the planned content.

During the visit, an inspection was carried out of the preparatory materials, exhibition layout sketches, selected exhibition elements, and other materials related to the activities completed to date and the further preparation of the project.

The remaining project activities will be implemented in accordance with the established timetable and project plan. Upon completion of all project activities, the Association “Life with Down Syndrome of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina” will submit to the Ministry the complete financial documentation and a narrative report on the implementation of the project, in line with contractual obligations and prescribed deadlines.

The project “From Literary Text to Inclusive Stage” contributes to the development of inclusive cultural practices, greater accessibility of cultural and artistic content for persons with disabilities, and the creation of opportunities for their equal participation in cultural life and artistic expression.
