International Air Sports Day, established by the World Air Sports Federation (FAI), is observed to promote air sports, raise awareness of their significance, and highlight the values they foster—courage, discipline, responsibility, precision, and adherence to safety rules.
Air sports represent a unique blend of athletic skill, technical knowledge, and physical and mental readiness, as well as a love for nature and challenges. Paragliding, hang gliding, skydiving, gliding, and other forms of air sports offer opportunities to develop athletic skills, push personal boundaries, and achieve outstanding sporting results.
This day is an opportunity to recognize all the athletes, coaches, instructors, sports organizations, and enthusiasts who contribute to the development and promotion of air sports through their hard work, dedication, and responsible approach.
To mark the occasion, various events—such as open days, workshops, trial flights, and airshows—are organized at airports and sports clubs around the world.
